The Coaching Education Department, which was opened in 2008 within the School of Physical Education and Sports, started its education activities in the 2009-2010 academic year. In the Department of Coaching Education, as of the 2023 academic year; There are a total of 9 faculty members, including 5 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 1 Doctoral Lecturer and 1 Research Assistant.
The main purpose of the Department of Coaching Education within the Faculty of Sport Sciences is to train qualified trainers who are needed in the field of sports. advances occurring in the field of sports in recent years in Turkey as well as in the world has brought with specialization in sports. From this point of view, it is inevitable that the qualified manpower needed in the field of coaching will be systematically raised in universities. The main objective of the Coaching Training Department is to spread the trainings and sports activities carried out on the scientific basis to a wide audience and to train a high level of trainer.
Specialist in the chosen branch of sports, people love, communication skills are high, outward, self-discipline developed, self-dependent group to manage and direct leadership characteristics, open to innovation, creative people have the mission to train. In addition to education courses, the department also provides training in the sub-disciplines of training sciences. Starting from the 5th semester, specialization courses are focused on specialization and it is aimed to gain the knowledge and skills required by the related sports branch.
